3 Piece Suite
Sitting on the sofa on a Christmas day
watching adverts on the telly for summer holidays
we've all got a sherry and we've had too much to eat
and the whole family is squashed into
the three piece suite
My granny had it first in the days before the war
then she gave it to my mother when my mum and dad were poor
and now they've given it to me but it takes up all the floor

Crammed into a corner, is a hi fi cabinet
in another is the fridge, with an empty plastic bag in it
I have table in the bay window with a view down the street
and everywhere else
is the three piece suite
I`m standing at the bus stop, this tune I`m humming
The rain is pouring down and the bus is late in coming
there's a hole in my blue suede shoes and I've got wet feet
but I`m happy
because sitting outside the junk shop
is that friggin three piece suite
